To commemorate the 150th year since Beatrice Winser's birth in Newark, NJ (March 11, 1869), BEATRICE 150 serves as catalyst and hub for community engagement, near and far, to restore public memory of Miss Winser and her exemplary contributions: as a library executive, as a civic leader and organizer, and as a woman operating independently and powerfully in the male-dominated world of the 1930s and 1940s.
